Mr. Shaitana is a flamboyant, eccentric person, and frankly, people are afraid of him. In an art auction, Mr. Shaitana tells Hercule Poirot that he not only likes collecting art but also likes collecting people who he thinks committed murder in the past and got away with it. And he intends to host a party and invite them over to play a game of bridge. Poirot is invited too, and he hesitates at first, but he is concerned about Mr. Shaitana’s safety because if he knows a killer’s secret, they might come after him too.

So at the party, they are divided into two groups while playing bridge. Poirot is in a group with three other people who take on the role of investigators and four other people who are the suspects. And Mr. Shaitana is among those suspects when he gets killed. The rest of the story involves Poirot delving deeper into the suspects’ backgrounds and analyzing their psychology. Figuring out why and how they committed those previous murders and who killed Mr. Shaitana. The author, Agatha Christie, known as the “queen of mysteries,” was able to leave the readers shocked with the clever plot twists in this story. This is truly a brilliant work of fiction.
