The Murder of Roger Ackroyd breaks the traditional mystery novel role. Considered one of the best of Agatha Christie’s books, this story takes place in a small village called the King’s Abbot.
The village life is quiet and peaceful. Everyone knows everyone, and everyone loves to gossip in this small village.

The story is told from the first-person perspective of the village doctor. When the widow Mrs. Ferrars’ suicide stirs rumours in the village, another shock comes to the villagers quite soon.
The rich Mr. Roger Ackroyd, rumored to be engaged to the widow, is found stabbed to death in his home.
There are secrets and blackmail involved. Everyone around the victim is a suspect. Everyone is hiding something, and it’s Detective Poirot’s job to find out the truth.
As the village doctor tags along with Poirot’s investigation, the readers try to guess the murderer with the help of the hints placed throughout the novel. But the plot twist is impossible to guess, and the final revelation will stun the readers. A classic murder mystery with a twist no one can see coming.
