This story follows Kim Jiyoung, a woman in her mid-thirties who develops a psychosis where she impersonates other women, dead or alive, known or unknown to her. The rest of the story explores what led her to have that breakdown. It explores what her formative experiences were from childhood to adulthood. This story is told from an omniscient third-person narrative, and this story does an excellent job at social commentary through a feminist lens. Kim Jiyoung is the allegory of the typical Korean woman born in the 1980s.

The social commentary reflects Korean culture and society. The story portrays patriarchal society and how women are socialized in it. It shows how previous generations of women influenced their daughters and dictated their behaviors for what’s acceptable in society or not. It shows how society teaches women to be submissive and expects them to sacrifice their career to prioritize their family. It talks about the everyday microagressions women face and how those events shape them from their childhood. This story is relatable and dark at the same time, and an extremely important read for everyone.
